What should I expect on my first visit to Kelp Pilates?

Expect a warm welcome, skilled instructors, a clean studio environment, and a range of classes suited to every level. Whether you’re new or experienced, your wellness and comfort are our top priority.

We recommend booking a private assessment to get personalized support. From there, you can explore class options that meet your goals.

How do I schedule a class?

Download the Walla app (iOS or Android), log in with your account, and book classes easily. You'll also receive reminders and updates through the app.

Where can I download the Walla app?
How do I stay updated on class changes or cancellations?

Make sure your notifications are turned on in the Walla app under your profile > Communication Preferences. This ensures you’ll receive confirmations, updates, and reminders.

What should I wear and bring to class?
  • Wear comfortable, breathable clothes that allow full movement
  • Avoid perfumes; essential oils are welcome
  • Bring grip socks (available for purchase)
  • Towels are optional
  • Water and tea are available in-studio
Should I eat before class?

Avoid eating a heavy meal 1–2 hours before your session.

When should I arrive?

Arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle in. The studio opens 15 minutes before class begins. Late arrivals are not allowed for safety and respect for others.

Where is Kelp Pilates located?

We’re in the River Village Shopping Center, between Z Café and Peking Wok, at street level.

Where can I park?

There is ample parking in front of the studio and behind Z Café. A staircase leads directly to our back entrance.

What do I do when I arrive?
  • Hang up personal items or use the baskets provided
  • Place shoes under the bench
  • Choose your reformer
  • Use the restroom (located near the back door)
  • Please keep your voice to a whisper to respect others settling in
  • What are the studio's Shared Agreements?

    We ask all students and staff to help foster an inclusive, respectful, and judgment-free space. Our agreements are designed to protect the studio as a supportive, sacred space for everyone.

    Will instructors offer hands-on adjustments?

    Yes, but only with your consent. Instructors will ask at the beginning of class—feel free to decline if you're not comfortable.

    Should I tell my instructor about injuries or conditions?

    Absolutely. Please inform your instructor if you are injured, pregnant, have physical limitations, or sensitivities (like to incense). This helps us provide proper modifications.

    What if I need to take a break during class?

    Honor your body. You can take breaks at any time. Child’s Pose is a great resting posture. Stay for the full class, even if you modify movements—consistency is what brings strength.

    Can I stay to chat or ask questions after class?

    Yes! We encourage you to grab a tea and connect with other students or ask your instructor questions. We’re building community, one class at a time.

    Do I need to clean equipment after class?

    Yes. Please use the cleaner and rag provided to wipe down your reformer and any props used.

    What if I need help or want to make a purchase after class?

    If no one is at the front desk, let your instructor know. They’re happy to assist.

    How do I cancel a class?

    Use the Walla app to cancel. Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance so others may book your spot.

    Is there a fee for late cancellations or no-shows?

    Yes. If you cancel within 24 hours or no-show, you will still be charged for the class.

    How often should I attend classes?

    We recommend attending at least twice per week to build a strong, flexible body and get the most out of your membership.
